Terrorist attack takes place in Nice, France this morning at a church.

The ID Group strongly condemns the attack today in Nice, France and calls for a fight against Islamism.

We cannot be satisfied by only denouncing terrorism. Terrorism is also present in the form of an ideology, called Islamism. We must realise that it is an ideology that is waging war on us.

The EU institutions are negligent of the current situation in Europe and how Islamism is rising within our borders.

There is a link between foreign influence and what this extreme ideology stands for. We have to stop it. There is no consistent fight against Islamism. Turkey is still being considered as a candidate country for accession to the EU, even after multiple statements by its president expressing support for Islamism.

We call upon the political class to have a look at what they haven’t done to be able to prevent what has happened today in France.

Actions that should have been taken long before were not taken and the gravity of the situation has been taken lightly. There is no reason for our people to stand by and count all the dead bodies the Islamist ideology has brought us.
